1. Eve.exe hangs on 1st launch, no splash screen, rundll32.exe @ 100% CPU - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
Actually, Lork, the firewall in XP doesn't block outbound connections. That was only introduced with Vista. Sadly the Windows Firewall wouldn't have been my first choice but third-party firewall support for Windows 7 x64 is particularly poor at t...

2. Eve.exe hangs on 1st launch, no splash screen, rundll32.exe @ 100% CPU - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
Right, well I've found the culprit and it actually looks like it's Microsoft's fault. Posting information here in case anyone else runs into this problem. I'm using the Windows Firewall built into Win 7 and have configured it to block both inboun...

3. Eve.exe hangs on 1st launch, no splash screen, rundll32.exe @ 100% CPU - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
I've tried that and nothing whatsoever lets logged. The workspace only starts filling up with information when ExeFile.exe is launched and I'm not getting that far. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

4. Eve.exe hangs on 1st launch, no splash screen, rundll32.exe @ 100% CPU - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
Hi there, apologies for length but I'm going to try to be quite specific. In the last few days both of my EVE clients have started showing the same problem on my pretty clean Win 7 x64 RC installation. I have tried reinstalling the client from sc...

5. Only one resolution available (win 7, nVidia) - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
I think I've had this problem before. I was only getting one resolution to choose from and it turned out to be related to my graphics adapter's refresh rate. When I went into my display settings under the 'monitor' tab I saw my refresh rate was s...

6. when should you boost ? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I'd say it depends entirely on how much damage you're taking. If you're taking less damage than you can rep then you might as well wait until you have to start and use that time to let your cap recharge as much as it can. If you're taking more da...

9. Why is space flat? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
And let's face it.. this is supposed to be a game. You start treating space like real space and the next thing you know people will be asking why you don't skill-train slower relative to stationary players when you're warping ...

10. Why is space flat? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Edited by: The Gauge on 27/06/2006 21:55:48 This is more about the orientation of the camera and the orientation of ships / objects than it is the movement of the ship itself. Anybody who's played Descent or run around as the Alien in AVP wil...

11. The Level 5 Blues. - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
And remember, it's not just that you need certain L5 skills to fly T2 ships... those L5 skills can also influence all your T1 ships, too. If you're serious about getting your T1 ships to the best they can be, you'd be going for L5 regardless. T2 i...

12. Macro Miners and the Petition - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Solution: Nobody in an NPC corp / trial account should be allowed to transfer more than 100,000 isk to another player in a 24 hour period. Escrow missions should have a similar restriction. They can still directly trade a single rocket for a milli...

13. VOIP Solution - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I think the 'optional' use of VOIP for an extra fee is going to be discriminatory. I've also joined several corps where the use of TeamSpeak is mandatory. This situation will only create Corporations where the CCP VOIP is mandatory, too, and thus ...

Edited by: The Gauge on 20/09/2005 14:02:10 Hmm... I read something about this on another topic recently. Apparently the amount of 'missions' on Escrow is often much greater than the amount displayed when you go to look. Going into the Escrow...

Edited by: The Gauge on 08/07/2005 13:29:44 OK, first off I'd like to say that I think this patch has been a great success in many ways. Whilst the missile nerf has hit hard, I do think it has brought them more in balance with other weapons in...
